Egoism Theory of Ethics and Corruption This paper is aimed at the analysis of the ethical dimension of corruption. In the developing countries, corruption has been established as highly prevalent. The focus is largely on the case of Mauritius. The assessment of corruption in absolute terms largely portrays it as unethical. Nevertheless, the consideration of the relativistic views somehow makes the allowance for corruption in its mild forms such as the giving of bribes in the forms of speed up gratuities or seeking favors to get or benefit from unwarranted advantages. The effective and comprehensive analysis of this case is based on the ethical theory of egoism. The origin of the egoism theory is from Freud.
